strategic product
development
developing a new
pharmaceutical product depends on a number of elements coming
together in the right way at the right time -
the right way forward
Different skills operate both in tandem and
parallel, yet co-ordinated results have to be available on schedule
in order to maintain the pace of progress.
Drug development can be therefore seen as a
matrix in which there are different ways of arriving at the same
endpoint. Sequani can navigate through and across this matrix in
time and cost-efficient ways, while making sure that all scientific
aims are achieved.
To achieve this we
design a strategic development plan at an early stage in a product's
development so that realistic targets, timescales and budgets can be
established - along with 'go or no go' decision points confirmed in
advance on the basis of the acceptability or otherwise of agreed
criteria.
Strategic Product Development
The Matrix
Developing a new
pharmaceutical product depends on a number of elements coming
together in the right way at the right time. Different skills

to be available on schedule in order to maintain the pace of
progress.
Drug development
can therefore bee seen as a matrix in which there are different ways

The Way Forward
To achieve this we
design a strategic development plan at an early stage in a product's
development so that realistic targets, timescales and budgets can be
established - along with 'go or no go' decision points confirmed in
advance on the basis if the acceptability or otherwise of agreed
criteria.
Applying such
disciplines so early breaks with tradition. Industry-wide, strategic
planning and programme management skills usually come into the
picture once a compound has been proved, their purpose being to
minimise subsequent development time and control the cost of the
large scale clinical work that follows proof of concept.
But at Sequani we
put these controls in place sooner. For each product, we provide our
clients with a development plan aimed at identifying key milestones
and the fastest, most efficient way forward - to proof of concept.
Plan Parameters
- Each plan is
specifically designed for the compound under development
- It outlines
the required studies, identifies the most suitable facilities in
which to conduct the work and incorporates a realistic budget
- In addition,
we can supply outline study designs that the client can use for
future tenders
- Following a
strategic review, we appoint a programme manager, whose task is
to oversee the various elements of the project
- The programme
manager is also charged with reducing the overall timeline and
delivering the project within budget
- All programmes
undertaken to date have met the agreed schedules and budgets
