Genetic Toxicology
The Genetic Toxicology team
works in a purpose-built suite of
laboratories and offers a wide range of genetic toxicology and cell
biology tests.
We are able to offer a
comprehensive range of genetic toxicity studies including the
complete standard battery of tests for preclinical safety
assessment, a range of studies suitable for early screening of
candidate compounds and various in-vitro models of toxicity and
local tolerance.

Validation Work
Following approval of the OECD guideline, the Genetic Toxicology team
will validate the
in vitro micronucleus assay, an assay which concurrently
measures cytotoxicity (using the cytokinesis-block proliferation
index) and genotoxicity (measurement of the frequency of
micronucleated binucleate cells). This assay will be invaluable as a
high throughput screening tool, or as one of the battery of
in vitro mammalian regulatory assays that Sequani
provide, in order to screen test compounds for clastogenic and
aneugenic potential.
