include:
- 48 hour Patch Test
- 96 hour Patch Test

To
evaluate the effects of various product types on the condition of the

Stratum Corneum integrity

To evaluate shampoo
formulations for their aesthetic effects on the hair using the

Dentist approved Studies
To evaluate the
tolerance of dental products. A 28 day home use study with the oral
tissues and/or teeth being assessed by a Dentist at the beginning and
end of the home use period and in the event of any problems. For
example:
- Evaluation of
Anti-Plaque Toothpaste

the skin surrounding the eye. A 28 day home use study with the skin
surrounding the eyes assessed by a trained skin grader and the eyes
assessed by an Optometrist at the beginning and end of the home use
period and in the event of any problems.
Assessment of
Human Eye Irritation Potential
To compare the potential of a test product to
elicit eye irritation in human volunteers following a single
application to the eye.
Products Tested
New products are compared with a relevant
control for example a marketed product of similar type with a claim
such as 'no tears'

In Use Product Testing
As the name implies, involves testing
the product under normal conditions of use and can provide useful
feedback on safety, efficacy and acceptability (in both practical and
aesthetic terms) of the product and packaging. In-use testing can be
conducted on any consumer product and many detailed aspects of the
test will be specific to the particular type of product under study.
The following services are provided:
·
Skin Pigmentation
This system uses normal
human keratinocytes and melanocytes grown to model the human epidermis
undergoing spontaneous melanogenesis (MelanoDerm™). Culturing for up
to two weeks with repeated treatments can reveal acceleration or
inhibition of melanin production compared to control cultures.
